Murton Victoria Football Club
- Murton Victoria F.C were founded in the late seventies (1979 I think) and plied there trade in the highly succesful Sunderland C.I.U league playing against the likes of Humbledon & Plains Farm, Farringdon, Silksworth R.A.O.B and Redhouse.
- When the league suddenly folded it was into the Peterlee & District League for the Vic and they slowly but surely made thier way through the leagues to the Premier Division. An amalgamation with Murton High House saw the Club rise tenfold with them challenging for honours from the off.
- Due to the hard work of committe men, management team and players they picked up the Tommy Burrell Trophy in 2005 and have finished in the top half of the league in the past 6 years and in 2007 were victorious in the Murton Aged Miners Cup.
- Off the field aswell the Club has flourished, going from a few lads helping out to a full committee. This was rewarded in 2006 when the Club were awarded Charter Standard Adult Club Staus. This hard work by the committee was again rewarded in 2007 when the club was awarded the Durham F.A Charter Standard Club of the Year.
